National dialogue on preparedness closes today

For the last seven years, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has designated the month of September as National Preparedness Month. This encourages citizens and communities to think about how to best prepare for emergencies including natural disasters, acts of terrorism and other man-made disasters. A special website, Ready.gov, complements the effort.

This year, citizens can now enage in a national dialogue about how to prepare for emergencies. There is only one day left to submit ideas. Visit National Dialogue on Preparedness where you can peruse more than 400 comments and ideas already submitted.

Is your family or community prepared for an emergency?
